Machine Head + Inflames May 4th at Fillmore

The Fillmore opens its doors at 4:30pm on May 4th to welcome metal fans for an unforgettable metal lineup. Lacuna Coil and Unearth starting it off red-hot, followed by two titans of the scene; In Flames and Machine Head. A show with just one of these heaver hitters it a must, let alone this deliciously stacked deck.

“Unatoned”, Machine Head’s upcoming album, releases right before the Minneapolis date on April 25th, plenty of time to listen up before hearing it live for the first time. Their recent 2022 hour-long concept album, Of Kingdom And Crown, was the previous release by the 30-year old juggernaut band. “The album and concept was loosely inspired by the Japanese anime series Attack On Titan,” reveals founding member and vocalist/guitarist, Robb Flynn, “in the sense that in that series, there is no “good” or “bad” guy… There are no cowboys (good), no Indians (bad). Both sides believe they’re doing the right thing, but both are committing atrocities and evil.”

Metal fans bleed in every color around the world, of course. In Flames has been injecting its Swedish influence into the world since 1990. Guitarist Bjorn Gelotte describes their mission to creating succinctly as “We need the music to be as interesting to us as it is to our fans because this has never just been a job for us, it's a way of life.” Making potent albums year after year seems like an eloquent conquest for In Flames. Get your heads ready and right, metal is coming to town.
