Vs Self hits Amsterdam Bar & Hall on 5/1

California-based screamo band Vs Self is coming to Amsterdam Bar & Hall in St. Paul on Thursday, May 1st. Indie rock/slowcore band Punxsutawney and Minneapolis-based Black Metal band Eudaemon will be opening.

Vs Self is a three-piece screamo band formed in 2018 and located in Apple Valley, California. The self-proclaimed “farwest emo” band is moody and heavy-hitting. Part of a new wave of screamo bands, the three-piece draws from elements of indie rock, post-hardcore, and math rock. Vs self crafts raw, emotionally charged music that pulses with tension and release. With lyrics that read like late-night journal entries and soundscapes that feel both intimate and explosive, the band explores themes of identity, conflict, and healing—where the biggest battles are often internal.
