Pond Returns to Minneapolis’ Fine Line Aug. 29
Australian psych rock band Pond is returning to Minneapolis’ Fine Line Aug. 29.
The band — which features Jay Watson of Tame Impala and Nick Allbrook (once a touring member of Tame’) — is coming off a run of shows in July supporting DJO.

The band will be in the midst of its own headlining tour that kicks off at Chicago’s Metro on Aug. 28 and ends at The Bellwether in Los Angeles Sept. 22. Head here for the band’s full tour schedule.
Pond, which formed in Freemantle, Western Australis in 2010, has established itself as an international touring band on a foundation of 10 recorded LPs. The band has toured through Minnesota repeatedly since 2014, following a supporting slot at 7th Street Entry for Oberhofer in 2012. Most recently, Pond headlined First Avenue in 2024. Pond has previously headlined shows at 7th Street, Saint Paul’s Turf Club and Fine Line.
Terrestrials, released in June, is their latest. It covers a wide range of themes and issues facing people of this world, including, according to a press release, “extractive capitalism, power dynamics, inequality, indigenous incarceration, eccentric outcasts, fire and water, diesel and dust, unity and division, blood and bauxite, unborn tomorrows and dead yesterdays - it’s all there. Terrestrials twitches with the desperation of people and planet on the brink, but ultimately bets on the beauty of both to prevail.”
Minneapolis’ Products Band opens in support for the 18-and-over show, with doors at 7 p.m. and music scheduled for 8 p.m. Go here for tickets.
