Oklou Brings the Choke Enough Tour to Minneapolis

French electro-pop artist Oklou is planning to stop at First Avenue in Minneapolis on April 24th as part of her US tour, Choke Enough. As an ode to her third studio album Choke Enough released in 2025, Oklou launches her US tour this friday April 10th starting in Las Vegas, NV.

Oklou started recording music in 2013 under the name Moniker Loumar where she self-released her debut EP Avril in June of 2014. The debut EP, First Tape, was released under the name Oklou following her move to Paris France in 2015, just one year after the release of Avril. The name “Oklou” (pronounced Okay Lou) is a play on her birth name Marylou and she’s mentioned it allows her to exist within a digital persona and provides space to keep her private life separate from her professional life.

Oklou’s 2025 album Choke Enough is the perfect example that good things take time as shes been quietly and mysteriously paving her way through the music industry for the past decade. This album is interesting in way that it perfectly blends elegance with electropop and be beautiful and introspective which is perfectly encapsulated in 13 melodic songs. While I haven’t dabbled much in the electropop community, I love when my first impression of an artist is which a weird, metaphorical, and whimsical album such as Choke Enough. The 13 songs on the album visualize the journey of self perception and provide imagery for heartbreak, solitude, and peace.

While this tour kicks off tomorrow on April 10th and so I have no idea what the show will look like, I think you should embrace the unknown and check it out because the album itself has easily landed in my repeats for the month. Tickets for this event can be purchased here.
