Hall of Famers HEART to Rock Mystic Lake Casino on March 13th

Rock legends Heart are bringing their Royal Flush Tour, An Evening with Heart, to Mystic Lake Casino Hotel on March 13, and it’s shaping up to be a special night for fans in Shakopee and beyond.

Heart has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. It’s my dad’s all-time favorite band, and I grew up listening to albums like Dreamboat Annie and Brigade on long car rides and family road trips. Songs like “Crazy on You,” “Barracuda,” and “All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You” were basically the soundtrack to my childhood.

Formed in the 1970s and led by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, Heart quickly made a name for themselves in a rock world that didn’t always make space for women. They broke through with Dreamboat Annie and went on to become one of the biggest rock bands of the late ’70s and ’80s. Even as music trends changed, they adapted, scoring major hits in multiple decades and eventually earning their place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Their ability to blend hard rock with acoustic moments and powerful ballads is a big part of what has kept them relevant for so long.

Now, getting the chance to cover this show feels like a full circle moment. Heart isn’t just a classic rock band they’re one of the most influential groups of their era, with Ann Wilson’s powerhouse vocals and Nancy Wilson’s incredible guitar work still at the center of it all. Decades later, they’re known for putting on a strong, high-energy live show.

For longtime fans and newer listeners alike, March 13 at Mystic Lake will be more than just a concert. For me, it’s a true bucket list show a chance to finally see, and write about, the band that played through so many of my favorite memories growing up.
