Get Ready: GWAR At First Ave 4/7!

Oh my, oh my. GWAR is coming back to the Twin Cities with their Gor Gor Strikes Back tour at First Ave April 7th!

Heavy riffs, amazing humor, costumes galore. There is so much to love about GWAR, and they have been giving it hot and heaping since 1984.

So, GWAR will always have a special place in my heart. At the first Sounds Of The Underground (yes, I was there 8 million years ago,) I was a rail-grabbing front row warrior. Didn’t leave the front row for about 6 hours straight. Dehydrated but very excited to see each band, things sometimes got a bit wild as they do at a big metal show. Well, during the first handful of GWAR songs, the crowd was getting wild. Like wild wild. So wild in fact my glasses were knocked from my head. Terrified, I started looking around in vain. One of the members of the band actually stopped and saw my panic, can’t remember which one. Tapped security on the shoulder and they helped me navigate the sticky gross ground in front of the stage. A miracle. My glasses were found. And UNBROKEN. Huzzah! I’ll never forget the small act of kindness bestowed on me that day. So yeah, they not only are badass and amazing musicians, but observant nice people.

Soulfly and King Parrot are going to be the leading support. Heck yes.
