As many legends do, Emperor hails from the beautiful country of Norway. Founded in 1991, they have a style that is readily emulated but never quite duplicated. Progressive metal mixing in with dark melodic trappings, there is a bit of everything in their music but seemlessly comes together. The guitar tone is exquisite, drums fast, and vocals piercingly haunting and beautiful. I am ready to melt into the riffs and admire the masterful navigating of their complex yet organized sound.
