Dave Matthews Band makes Mystic Lake Amphitheater debut June 23
Dave Matthews Band returns to Minnesota for the first time in four years, making its debut at Shakopee’s Mystic Lake Amphitheater, which has its grand opening June 20.
DMB last played in Minnesota at the Target Center on Nov. 13, 2022, though frontman Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds were part of the Farm Aid 40 lineup at Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis last September.
DMB formed in Virginia back in 1991 and the jazz-rock fusion jam band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024.
Matthews has increasingly stuck his neck out politically in recent years, frequently using his social media channels to oppose President Donald Trump regarding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
At a show in Raleigh, N.C., earlier this month, he read a prepared statement, pushing back against accusations that previous comments were antisemitic.
A Stereogum article on the matter quoted Matthews as stating previous comments "should by no means be twisted into anyone thinking that I am bigoted or antisemitic in any way at all. I will never stop calling for an end to the violence in Gaza and the West Bank and Lebanon and for that matter, the Congo, and Sudan, and Ukraine. Or the horrific violence against immigrants and their neighbors in our country. I am opposed to violence from any government to any people and against children most of all."
The all ages show starts at 7:30 p.m. Get tickets here.
