“Dark Winter” is Coming - Lord of the Lost and The Birthday Massacre Joined by Wednesday 13

Though the nights are already getting longer, “Dark Winter” is here, a massive tour by co-headliners Lord of the Lost and The Birthday Massacre, with Wednesday 13 opening for the two- this tour isn’t about spectacle for spectacle’s sake, it’s about mood, atmosphere, and leaning fully into the shadowy edges of alternative and heavy music.

At the center of it all are Lord of the Lost, currently two thirds into their most ambitious era yet. The tour follows the rollout of their OPVS NOIR trilogy, with the second batch of 11 songs having arrived recently on December 12, 2025. The album builds on the dark, introspective foundation of Vol. 1, where we heard the first 11 songs, blending melancholy, grandeur, and heavy gothic textures while adding moments of unexpected warmth. Produced by frontman Chris Harms, OPVS NOIR Vol. 2 leans into the orchestral and genre fluid side of the band, which is exactly the kind of material that thrives in a live setting. I’m expecting a lot of dramatic pacing and a set designed to feel immersive and draw you in before hitting with hard and heavy moments. Lord of the Lost always seems to try to innovate their sound year after year, and this seems to be no different!

The Birthday Massacre will bring some balance to the night with their signature mix of dark synths, shining melody, and emotionally charged songwriting. Their sound brings a dreamier contrast to Lord of the Lost’s weight and theatricality, rounding out the tour’s tone and reinforcing the idea that darkness can be both heavy and beautiful. Longtime fans know their shows as slow burn experiences that care less about exploding energy, and more about atmosphere, bringing heavy emotion and melody along to carry the weight. As co-headliners, they help shape the tour’s tone, making the night feel as immersive and reflective as it is heavy. I got the chance to see them in Vegas a few years ago and am personally excited to see them live again on a new tour and with new music as well! Their latest album released in April of last year and continues to push forward their sound into new waves of semi-industrial grunge, but with the perfect goth flair.

Opening the show is Wednesday 13, (holy cow right?) a horror-rock mainstay whose theatrical flair and punk energy provide a sharp contrast to the headliners’ more cinematic approach. With decades of cult credibility, with early work on Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13, then moving to be front man for Murderdolls (with Joey Jordison), to his solo work, he sets the stage with just enough chaos, camp, and menace to kick the night into motion. I know I’ll be headbanging through most of this set for sure.

If your looking for a perfect goth night, with tons of atmosphere, emotions, and heavy tones, the Dark Winter tour is here to deliver and shock you with an incredible performance from all three bands. See you there!

Tickets here, with doors at 6 p.m.!
