Atmosphere’s Winter Carnival Tour Stopping in Hometown Minneapolis 2/1
Slug and Ant, the dynamic duo behind Atmosphere, are set to return to their hometown of Minneapolis for an electrifying show at First Avenue on the “Winter Carnival Tour.” Joining them will be a huge lineup featuring Sage Francis, R.A. The Rugged Man, Kool Keith, and a DJ set by Mr. Dibbs, making this more of a showcase event than just a traditional headline show.
Releasing music since they formed in 1996, Atmosphere have remained a staple in the hip hop community, known for blending real stories with well crafted beats, and letting audiences in on experience. Now having been together for 30 years, Atmosphere has long proven themselves a cornerstone of the hip hop community, and their live performances are a real reflection of that history. Their shows feel personal and lived in and often its more like listening to storytime, but in a cool adult way, and about things that we all deal with. This night should be a great celebration of their time in the scene, and a chance to keep pushing their music further with their newest releases.
Their latest release, Jestures, has been met with praise for its honesty, leaning into themes of aging, gratitude, and perspective without losing the sharpness Atmosphere are known for. It’ll be perfect to perform for a hometown show, where the album takes us on a literal A-Z of songs, where long time fans and newer listeners can meet in the same room and hear those songs take on new life.
The duo will be performing February 1st, and you can nab tickets here. Hope to see you there!
