Claire Rosinkranz Returns to Fine Line on her My Lover Tour

Claire Rosinkranz returned to Minneapolis last night for her My Lover tour, taking over the Fine Line Music Cafe for a night that felt celebratory, emotional, and deeply personal. Having seen her at the same venue in the winter of 2023, just before she stepped away from music due to a chronic illness, this show carried a powerful sense of full circle.

Opening the night was Dutch singer-songwriter Stevie Bill, whose indie-pop sound set the tone perfectly. Stevie’s warm, charming energy immediately drew the crowd in, making the room feel intimate from the start. She brought thoughtful, unique touches to her set that you don’t always see from openers. At one point, she asked if anyone in the audience was going through a breakup, then dedicated her next song to a fan, even gifting her a rose and a reminder that she wasn’t alone. Stevie also did a cover of Purple Rain by Prince! At first, I assumed she and her guitarist did a different cover in every city, but after performing the song, Stevie mentioned how they were most nervous to play that song here in Minneapolis. Crazy to think that people from all around the world know Minneapolis as Prince’s home.

By the time Claire took the stage, the crowd was more than ready thanks to Stevie’s performance. She stepped out barefoot in a flowy white mini dress and headscarf, instantly setting a carefree, summery tone. Paired with the vintage rug onstage, the whole aesthetic leaned into a soft, hippie-inspired vibe that matched her energy perfectly. She opened with “Lucy” from My Lover and quickly moved into the funky throwback “Frankenstein,” signaling a setlist that blended old favorites with her newer sound.

Compared to her performance three years ago, Claire has clearly grown into her artistry. I suppose this is what happens when going from being a teenager to your early twenties. She seemed more confident, more grounded, and more in control of her sound and stage presence. Fresh off opening for Alex Warren’s UK/European tour, she showed her growth in how she carries herself like a seasoned performer, while still keeping the playful, free-spirited vibe fans love. One thing about Claire is that she’s going to be frolicking, which makes her so fun to photograph. Whether she was dancing, twirling, or simply soaking in the moment, her joy felt genuine and infectious.

Midway through the show, Claire opened up about her experience with chronic illness, sharing how uncertain she once felt about her future in music. That vulnerability came to life most powerfully in her song “Chronic,” a moving reflection on living in a body that didn’t feel like her own. It was one of the night’s most poignant moments, both deeply personal and universally relatable in one way or another.

Throughout the night, Claire struck a balance between lighthearted fun and emotional honesty, showing just how much she’s grown as both an artist and a person. More than anything, her performance radiated passion and connection. She loves what she does, and that energy resonates with her audience.

If this show proved anything, it’s that Claire Rosinkranz is only just getting started. Her talent, authenticity, and renewed perspective are shaping her into an artist with staying power, and it’s exciting to see where she goes next.
