Waxahatchee & MJ Lenderman Coming to Minneapolis State Theatre
Alabama Indie music project Waxahatchee (created by Katie Crutchfield) and indie rock artist MJ Lenderman launched the start of their joint tour in April 13th in Atlanta. They are set to hit Minneapolis April 29th at State Theatre. Waxahatchee and MJ are no strangers to each other on stage after frequently sharing studio recording sessions and stage time together, they’re finally hitting the road together on their co-headlining tour. Throughout the night they will both be playing separately as well as together with support from Brennan Wedl.
Crutchfield named her project Waxahatchee after Waxahatchee Creek in Alabama as an ode to where she grew up. Her debut album American Weekend was recorded all from her bedroom in 2011 and released later in 2012. Crutchfield wrote and recorded the album in one week at her family home in Birmingham, Alabama. Her lyrics focused on personal relationships, devastation and longing. In October 2025 following the release of 6 successful studio albums between 2012 and 2024, Crutchfield posted a series of Polaroid photos of herself, Allison Crutchfield, MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook together. On October 31, 2025, the ominous post was revealed to be a surprise new studio album for the Crutchfield sisters and Lenderman. The self titled album was released on Anti- under the project name of Snocaps.
MJ Lenderman is an american singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from North Carolina. Aside from his solo projects, Lenderman is also recognizable from the four studio albums he’s released as part of indie rock band Wednesday. He’s also linked to being a previous member of Indigo De Souza’s band and appearing on her first two studio albums in in 2018 and 2021. MJ Lenderman’s solo career really took of in 2022 following the release of his debut studio album Boat Songs and his 2024 studio album Manning Fireworks. After becoming a trusted and frequently musical partner to Waxahatchee, he appeared on her sixth studio album Tigers Blood released in 2024 and became a member of her alternative band Snocaps who released a self titled album just last year.
Waxahatchee & MJ Lenderman have partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 per ticket goes to supporting community-driven nonprofits working to increase access to nutritious food and housing resources in each city they visit.
