ROLE MODEL's Alter Ego, Chuck Timely, Will Be at the Armory on September 18th
Role Model is returning to Minneapolis on September 18, bringing CHUCK ON TOUR to The Armory in support of his latest album, Chuck Timely and the Hourglass. Joining him for the night is singer-songwriter Samia, whose indie-pop style makes her a strong fit for the tour. The album also introduces fans to Chuck Timely, the latest in a line of alter egos from Tucker Pillsbury, following the Saint Laurent Cowboy character from his previous tour.
Those larger-than-life personas have become part of the Role Model experience. Ultimately, he’s kind of a weird guy. But I think that’s what really draws people in. Whether he's delivering vulnerable lyrics or fully committing to a new character, Tucker has a way of making each era feel distinct. While the origins of his pseudonyms remain a bit of a mystery, they've become another memorable piece of his evolving artistry.
This show will be my fifth time seeing Tucker live, so it's safe to say I've been a fan for a while. Watching his career grow over the years has been exciting, and seeing him bring a new album and a new character to a venue like The Armory feels like another big moment. Needless to say, I can't wait to see what Chuck Timely has in store for Minneapolis.
Although resale prices have gotten fairly steep for a GA venue, you can still find some tickets here.
