Japanese Indie Group Lamp and Their “Future Behind Me” Tour of The Americas, Stop at Twin Cities 11/19
Hailing from Tokyo, Japan, the indie 3 piece group Lamp have built an international following by bringing smooth horns, synths, and city-pop grooves into their music. Forming in 2000, and releasing the album Soyokaze Apartment Room 201 (2003), the band now celebrates over 20 years of music, most recently releasing From Dusk Till Dawn (2023). Drawing inspiration from bossa nova, soul, and 60’s/70’s pop, Lamp creates a warm and lounge-like atmosphere that invites listeners in to a smooth soundscape.
This stop in the twin cities for the “Future Behind Me” tour will showcase a wide variety of songs from their discography, alongside new singles from their From Dusk Till Dawn album. Expect a journey of softspoken vocals, warm basslines, and smooth soul piano melodies that will get you swaying and clapping along in no time. If you’re looking for a laid back, but rich and retro feeling concert, then this is the show for you!
Most listeners have likely even heard a few of their songs without realizing it (linked below)- their 2004 track “Hatachi No Koi” saw a massive resurgence on Tik-Tok backing the viral “us in another universe” trend. Whether your’e a long time fan or just finding out about this wonderful band, look forward to a nostalgic, and cool evening with lots of charm.
