King Princess at Uptown Theatre – Friday, November 8

Brooklyn-based firebrand King Princess is staging a major comeback this fall with her third studio album Girl Violence and they’re bringing that energy to Minneapolis. The new record dropped September 12 and features the lead single RIP KP, described by the artist as “a slobbery, lust-driven anthem” and a kind of ego-death clearing house.

At the Uptown Theatre on Friday, November 8, fans will get more than a run-of-the-mill pop set — King Princess, is channeling her queer identity, post-major-label freedom, and Brooklyn-bred grit into songs that marry rock attitude with pop hooks. This tour is less about maintaining status and more about taking control — as Straus herself says: “Women are both amazing and sinister — including myself … these are mine.”

Expect a live show that leans into boldness: fresh and gritty guitar lines, raw vocals, unapologetic lyrics, and a crowd ready to sing back every line. With an album that confronts emotional chaos, identity and reinvention.
