Hey, Nothing Brings The Hound Tour to Varsity 10/13
The Atlanta-based emo-folk duo hey, nothing – Tyler (he/him) & Harlow (they/them) – are bringing their Hound Tour to Varsity Theater in Minneapolis on October 13th, 2026. Hey Nothing is a band that time after time manages to fuse the most heart wrenching lyrics and weird (in a good way, duh) stage presence into one performance and every time it really speaks to my soul.
The band announced their most recent record Hound would be released on August 21st of this year with a tour to follow. While Hound is hey, nothing’s second studio album, I feel as though it is the perfect introduction to the band. The album is a combination of sarcasm, humor, and complex emotions. An example of this is their single “Long Time Leaver” off the album, “‘Long Time Leaver’ pokes fun at the strange nature of touring or traveling,” the band explains. “It is about the internal guilt we feel every time we leave home for extended periods of time. Through this song, we look through the eyes of our parents and how it must seem for them when we miss holidays or certain major life moments – there’s a loneliness for both those who leave and those who have been left. But it’s also about letting go of that shame to grasp the privilege in reach and use it for good rather than wasting it.”
As someone who grew up watching and memorizing every scene of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, hey, nothing perfectly captures the same existential dread and the sarcasm of the high school experience and all the big emotions that are experienced during that transitional time. I had first heard the band by their single “I haunt ur dreams” released in 2022 and then again by hearing “Too Drunk to Drive” that was rooted in their 2023 debut album, We’re Starting to Look Like Each Other.
The perfect show for the sad indie-folk lovers.
