Halsey Brings Minneapolis Back to Badlands

American singer-songwriter Halsey is bringing us back to her Badlands era with her current tour, Back to Badlands. The album Badlands was originally released in 2015 with a tour following in the same year. Since then she has released two live albums and 5 full albums with the fifth one — Badlands (Decade Edition Anthology) — released this year. The Badlands(2025) album includes all the original and loved songs from the 2015 Badlands album, in addition to five orchestral songs, original and stripped versions of her Room 93 EP songs, and her unreleased 2015 demo “Garden”. All in all, if you were a Halsey fan in 2015, you’d understand that not only is the release of “Garden” a big deal, but in addition there’s now a full album with songs from Badlands (2015) AND Room 93 (2015) (aka a very big deal for old Halsey fans everywhere).

Halsey’s career dates back to 2014 when her song “Ghost” gained traction on the music platform SoundCloud, but she had been writing music for long before that. The stage name ‘Halsey’ originally comes from a reference made to Halsey Street Station within the New York City Subway in Brooklyn — a place she spent a lot of time at when she was a teenager. It also stuck as a permanent stage name because of the correlation to Halsey’s first name, Ashley. Her first big tour experience was with The Kooks in April of 2014 and following that was the released of her debut extended play Room 93 which was released in October of 2014. With three successful tours with Young Rising Sons, The Kooks, and Imagine Dragon under her belt, and an appearance at South by Southwest in 2015, she released her debut studio album Badlands in August of 2015. The original Badlands was a concept album depicting her mental state at the age of 19 when she wrote the songs. The album created a dystopian future society that was known as The Badlands.

Her music is cinemac, dystopian, and packed with heavy raw emotion. While she credits numerous artists that contributed to her musical career — she said she is most inspired by cinema and filmmakers such as Quentin Tarantino, Harmony Korine, and Larry Clark.

This show is taking place at the Armory in Minneapolis on November 6th, 2025 and tickets are still for sale here.
