Don’t Miss Glitterfox 9/2 at The 7th Street Entry

Glitterfox will be stopping by the 7th Street Entry on Tuesday, September 2nd for a can’t miss show.

Glitterfox doesn’t chase the algorithm — they follow instinct, community, and a kind of magia (Basque for magic). Formed by longtime creative partners Solange Igoa and Andrea Walker, the Portland-based band has built their career the analog way: a van, a map, and unforgettable shows stitched across towns like constellations. Their rise has been defined by raw connection and fearless self-expression, with music that fuses garage rock grit, new wave shimmer, southern Americana soul, and a dancefloor pulse — all tangled with heart and heat until what emerges is unmistakably, inimitably Glitterfox.

Now joined by Eric Stalker and Blaine Heinonen, Glitterfox is more than a band — they’re chosen family, held together by sound and the invisible threads that music always knows how to weave. Whether launching Portland’s annual Glitterfest as a wedding reception or channeling the messy middle of life into something unforgettable, Glitterfox’s gift is their transparency, their defiance, and their freedom — sung loud.

Local (and fantastic) Jillian Rae will be opening up the show so get there on time. As someone who has seen Jillian nearly a dozen times, I can tell you that she is an absolute powerhouse and absolutely worth it!

Lauded as a “triple threat on vocals, fiddle, and composition” (Star Tribune), Jillian Rae is a fiercely unique spirit who cares more about making authentic music than about conforming to expectations. The Minneapolis-based, classically trained violinist turned country fiddler has become a commanding international presence— writing powerful genre-bending songs, heading up her own critically acclaimed indie rock band, and backing up Grammy-winning acts like The Okee Dokee Brothers. Although she got her start playing with folk and country bands, Rae’s second full-length album, I Can’t Be the One You Want Me to Be (2019), took a decided turn into rock and pop with unflinching, hard-hitting songs. It also showcased her orchestration abilities with layered violin tracks saturated in heavy grooves and moody arrangements. The album’s final track “Wayward One” was featured prominently in the hit Chinese film The White Storm 2 and has catapulted her into near stardom in China. Rae is also an in-demand producer and session player, known for her soaring string orchestrations, arrangements, and fiddle parts. Most recently, Jillian Rae has released 4 new singles — "Doing My Best" (2022), "Stuck" (2022), "Barely Breathing" (2023), and "Silence" (2024) — and is working on her third full-length studio album.
