Chicago’s Brigitte Calls Me Baby Makes a Stop at the First Ave Main Room on November 7th

If you’re tracking the current wave of indie rock that pulls heavily from post-punk and vintage melodrama, you'll want to be at the First Avenue main room on Saturday, November 7, 2026. Chicago's Brigitte Calls Me Baby is bringing their Irreversible Tour to Minneapolis, carrying a sound that splits the difference between the driving rhythms of The Strokes and the sweeping, dramatic croon of Morrissey.

The band’s trajectory has been fast. Built around frontman Wes Leavins who moved from Texas to Chicago and famously spent time trading letters with French cinema icon Brigitte Bardot (hence the band name) the group relies on a massive sonic foundation provided by a tight, five-piece lineup. After generating significant underground buzz with their debut record The Future Is Our Way Out, they’ve doubled down on their sophomore album, Irreversible. Produced by Yves Rothman and Lawrence Rothman, their newer material leans heavily into lush, theatrical rock that relies entirely on Leavins' commanding vocal range and the band's sharp, new-wave guitar hooks.

The bill is stacked from top to bottom to keep the room moving from doors to curfew. LA-based alternative rock outfit Common People will handle the live support with their own brand of guitar-heavy indie rock, while Minneapolis staple DJ Jake Rudh sets the tone for the night by spinning a curated set of classic post-punk and synth-pop directly from the decks. This is a stark, black-and-white aesthetic that fits the First Ave Mainroom perfectly.
