Black Rebel Motorcycle Club to Shake the Walls at First Avenue
San Francisco’s Black Rebel Motorcycle Club rolls into First Avenue on September 30, bringing their signature mix of gritty, reverb-soaked rock back to a city that’s always shown them plenty of love. If you’ve seen them on this stage before, you know what to expect: dim lights, thick atmosphere, and a wall of sound that hits you right in the chest.
BRMC has built a devoted following since the early 2000s, blending garage rock, blues, and psych influences into something dark, loud, and strangely beautiful. Whether they’re digging into the gospel-tinged grit of Howl or the heavier edge of Beat the Devil’s Tattoo, their live sets are a masterclass in controlled chaos and First Ave’s Mainroom is the perfect place for it.
Opening the night is Humanist, the post-punk-meets-cinematic-rock project from UK producer Rob Marshall. Expect layered guitars, pulsing rhythms, and a brooding energy that’ll set the tone for BRMC’s headlining set.
If you like your rock shows loud, moody, and dripping in distortion, this one’s for you. See you in the shadows.
