Local Star Ber Celebrates Her New Album At First Avenue April 17th
Minneapolis indie pop artist Ber is coming home to headline First Avenue on April 17, just a couple weeks after dropping her debut full length album Good, Like It Should Be on April 3.
Originally from Walker, Minnesota, Ber (real name Berit Dybing) got her start posting songs online during the pandemic after spending time studying music in Europe. She broke through in 2021 with “Meant to Be,” a collaboration with Charlie Oriain that blew up on TikTok and helped her quickly build a fanbase.
Since then, she’s released a string of EPs and standout singles like “Bad for Me” and “Boys Who Kiss You in Their Car,” showing off her mix of emotional, relatable lyrics and catchy indie-pop production. She’s also hit the road opening for artists like Tom Odell, Sigrid, and Calum Scott, steadily growing her audience along the way.
Her new album leans more into themes of self worth and figuring your life out, while still keeping the honest, diary like songwriting she’s known for. Playing First Ave now feels like a big step up and a full circle moment for an artist who’s been building things from the ground up.
Expect a mix of older fan favorites and newer songs, plus a hometown crowd that’s been with her since the beginning.
