5SOS Debut at Mystic Lake Amphitheater
If you haven’t made plans yet for July 22nd, fix that. 5 Seconds of Summer is rolling through Shakopee this summer as part of their massive "Everyone's a Star!" World Tour, and they're bringing the party to the brand-new Mystic Lake Amphitheater. If you haven't checked out this venue yet, now's your chance — it just opened on June 20 and it's already Minnesota's largest outdoor amphitheater, with space for 19,000 fans under the stars. Located just outside the Twin Cities near Canterbury Park, it's got that perfect summer-concert energy: open air, big lawn, big vibes.
This is 5SOS's first full world tour since the release of their latest album Everyone's a Star! which was released in 2025 with support from a special guest, The Band CAMINO. The North American leg kicked off in late May of 2026, so by the time they hit Minnesota, they'll be locked in with an amazing show. Expect a setlist that mixes the new stuff with deep cuts and all the hits you've been screaming in the car for years - think back to the One Direction days.
The band — Luke Hemmings (vocals/guitar), Michael Clifford (lead guitar), Calum Hood (bass), and Ashton Irwin (drums) — started posting covers on Youtube back in 2011 as teenagers in Sydney, Australia. They blew up fast, opening for One Direction on tour and dropping their self-titled debut album in 2014 with cult classics like "She Looks So Perfect," "Don't Stop," and "Amnesia." From there, they further evolved as a band and put out five more studio albums including Youngblood (2018), CALM (2020), 5SOS5 (2022), and the new Everyone's a Star!
While the band has shifted artistically from where they started to now, they continue to draw me in with their cutting edge spin on pop-rock music. From hanging their posters on my wall at 11 years old to now watching them gear up to play Minnesota’s largest outdoor amphitheater at 26, it feels very full circle and is the perfect example of growth on both of our ends.
Tickets for this show are on sale now and can be found here.
