Taking Back Sunday & Coheed and Cambria Double Header Live at Armory 8/20

American rock band Taking Back Sunday is hitting the Armory in Minneapolis on August 20th for their 2025 tour is co-headlining with Coheed and Cambria. Taking Back Sunday's came together as a band in 1999 and release their debut album in March of 2002. Since then, they have been steadily releasing new albums and remastered versions of fan favorites for the last 23 years.

Taking Back Sunday's history isn't much different than any other early 2000s bands - playing local gigs and recording demos. However, fairly early on into the band's career, they signed on with a major record label and got the chance to tour with Linkin Park in 2007 and went on to become a staple in the early 2000s emo/rock scene.

Co-headlining the tour is Choeed and Cambria - an American rock band that was formed in New York just a couple years before Taking Back Sunday in 1995. Since their start, they have released eleven studio albums, three live albums, and several special edition releases. Six of those eleven albums have made the Billboard Top 10 and now they’re touring as an ode to their eleventh album Vaxis - Act III: The Father of Make Believe that was released just this year on March 14th, 2025. With the first leg of their tour being announced in December of 2024, Taking Back Sunday is joining the party for the second leg and Minneapolis being the fourth stop.

I'm a firm believer that nothing can beat early 2000s punk/emo music and continuously revisit it in-between additional music hyper fixations. I think having two well-known emo/rock bands who are still successfully making music on tour together is going to be such an experience that I definitely am not planning on missing.

Tickets for this dual 2000s emo rock headline tour are still on sale here. I think you owe it to your early 2000s self to check this show out.
